Google Ranking Factor – Factor Bias CTR & RTS Test
Total guesswork here – just consider it.
Again, a possible Google experiment.
This one would be to push a ranking factor slightly toward or beyond a test point where SERPs CTR response is measured. This is like tuning an engine with fine adjustments, you make an adjustment that might be too course, then adjust back about 2/3, then forward again 2/3, then back again 2/3 etc where each incremental shift is reduced by 1/3 until such a time as the shift is too small to calibrate, by which time you have reached the correct balanced point.
- SERPs is search engine results pages
- CTR is click through rate from SERPs.
- RTS is return to SERPs rate (AKA bounce to SERPs)
